What is a tongue tie?
A tongue tie is when the small band of tissue under the tongue - called the frenulum- is too short, tight, or thick. This causes the tongue to become restricted and unable to function to its fullest potential.
How can myofunctional therapy help?
Myofunctional therapy helps by teaching the tongue and surrounding muscles how to move and function properly — both before and after a tongue-tie release. Through gentle exercises, it strengthens the tongue, supports healing, and retrains healthy breathing, swallowing, and oral posture for long term balance and comfort.
