What is head, neck, and shoulder tension?

Tightness or pain in the head, neck, and shoulders is known as muscle tension. This is often a sign that the muscles in your face and mouth are not working the way they should. When your tongue, lips, and jaw are out of balance, other muscles have to work harder to help you breathe, chew, and swallow — which can lead to tension and fatigue.

How can myofunctional therapy help?

Myofunctional therapy helps by retraining the muscles of the face, tongue, and jaw to work in harmony. When these muscles function properly, the rest of the body does not have to compensate — which means less tension and pain in the head, neck and shoulders.
